One great way to contribute to the ever-present need of our less fortunate neighbors is our monthly Pro-Life Food & Paper Goods Drive. Please bring donations, especially of paper and household supplies, to the church narthex/vestibule on the first Sunday of the month. We distribute these donations to both St. Thomas of Canterbury Food Pantry and St. Francis of Assisi Food Pantry. We can also use drivers of these donations to deliver them once a month. Please contact the Parish Office if interested in being a donation delivery driver.
In the face of the influx of migrants into Chicago, the generosity of the St. Edward parish community has been both beautiful and inspiring. God's love for all His sons and daughters continues to radiate from the Eucharist, through our parishioners, and out into our Mayfair community.

Happily, the city of Chicago has ceased housing migrants inside our police stations, and is instead attempting to find them more dignified living arrangements. We are unsure at the moment what this means for the future of our Migrant Outreach Program, but we are still committed to serving the needy in our midst.
**Everyone's generosity has been beautiful to witness, but we simply do not have the staff, the storage capacity, or the distribution system that would make receiving a constant stream of a wide variety of donations practical. Thank you so much for both your understanding and your continued support. We are truly blessed to belong to a parish community so eager to assist those in need! **

Shower & Food Events: St. Edward parishioners have spearheaded a Migrant Outreach Program that welcomes migrants into our Convent for a shower and some hot food. Our first such event took place on Thursday, September 21, 2023 and was a huge success. We have held many similar events over the past year, and hope to continue this work should the need. Thank you to all who have participated in any way in this noble endeavor to live out the Corporal Works of Mercy!Coat/Blanket/Footwear Drive: We have collected coats, blankets, and closed-toed shoes throughout the Fall and Winter. We are so overwhelmed with the generosity of our parihsioners that we need to ask for pause on all donations until we can distribute them all. Please help us in this task by attending a DONATION SORT EVENT or a DONATION DISTRIBUTION EVENT. Stay tuned for more info about these opportunities.
